What if you could live it all again?
A single choice can undo a careful plan. Repeat asks what you would do with one more chance — to save someone you love, to become someone better, or simply to make a different mistake.
Debut Novelist • Student Author
Dhaanvi Narain Verma is thirteen, in Grade IX, and the author of Repeat: Once to Fix All, her first novel. She set out to write a single scene. The scenes became chapters, the chapters a world, and the characters refused to follow the plan.
An Army officer’s daughter, she has known many versions of home: a tiny Himalayan village with one school for miles, and one of Pune’s finest classrooms; comfortable houses and temporary postings. Each move taught her to adapt, to cross a language with a smile, and to notice the stories other people walk past.
She writes because people fascinate her — how they think, what they choose, and what they carry. Between pages she plays volleyball, follows Formula One, debates, reads, and disappears into psychology. Some people collect trophies. She collects plot twists.
This story began as one scene, then another, until the pages held a whole world: friendship and heartbreak, ambition and mystery, football matches and debates, and characters who would not stay inside the outline their author had drawn.
Underneath it is a thought she has carried for a long time. People love control. We make plans, set goals, and trust that enough effort will make life obey. Reality keeps ignoring the script. A single choice can change everything. A single moment can become a lifelong memory. A single goodbye can arrive before we are ready.
So she wrote a story in which every conversation, every victory, every mistake, and every second chance could be examined. What if you could do it all again? Would you save the people you love? Would you become someone better? Or would you simply make different mistakes?
More than anything, Repeat is about choices, consequences, and the hope that remains when life will not give us another turn. Stories still can. It is a book for anyone who has ever wished for one more chance to get a life right.
A single choice can rewrite an entire life.
We write the plan. Life keeps the pen.
When the world offers no second chance, a story still can.
